Shireen: My brothers and I work in the Wine Tasting room with our parents and help with the parties. I love working here because Im the Employee of the Monthevery month. (smile)Tammy: Were a family-owned winery, with our horse ranch and winery in Ramona, and wine-tasting room located in historic Old Town, San Diego. My husband makes the wine and I pour the wine, and our children help with various parts of the business as well. We breed and raise Peruvian Paso Horses, with many of the wines named after our horses. Combining our two passions, our family motto is Drink Fine WineRide Fine Horses
William: It really all started with Tammys dream. She wanted to own horses, and I said, Lets do it. So we bought some land in Ramona with a beautiful adobe home, and 600 dead apple trees. We cleared the trees, and then I decided to plant some wine grapes, just for fun.
Tammy: William then decided to get serious and went to UC Davis to study vitaculture, and then interned with an old Italian wine maker, visited Tuscany and learned the magic and secrets of making incredibly great wines.
William: We name our wines after our Peruvian Paso horses . The golden horse on our label is Promesa de Perfection which means the promise of perfection in every bottle. This palomino is named after a real palomino horse in our stables.
And this wine is named Maximus, after our black stallion.
Our late harvest wine is named for our daughter, Shireen. The name Shireen is the Persian word for sweet, and this is a very sweet wine. We will still need to make some wines named after our sons. (smiles)
Tammy: Our place is about fun, and we have a lovely garden room for hosting group parties and events. If you are looking to host a networking or fundraising event, or any other type of party, please contact us.we can make it fun and entertaining.
William: Visit Hacienda de las Rosas Wine Tasting Room in Old Town San Diego for a taste of San Diego wines!

Calgary, Alberta, Canada, February 26, 2010 –(PR.com)– Salut Wine + Food Festival will be returning to Calgary and Toronto for its second year this Spring. The 2010 Calgary festival will launch on Tuesday, April 6, with the Grand Finale dinner being held on Saturday, April 17. The Toronto festival will take place May 8 – 15, 2010.

Once again, the festival will feature a comprehensive program of events featuring international wine makers and celebrity chefs and highlighting some of the city’s best restaurants and venues.

-

-

“The festivals will follow a very similar format to last year”, notes Salut Festival Manager and Co-Chair, Don House. “Guests loved the diversity of the program and the interactive nature of the events. Meeting and speaking with award-winning vintners, experiencing wines from around the globe, watching celebrity chefs compete in iron chef competitions, attending informational seminars and indulging in some of the finest culinary fare, Salut Wine + Food Festival offers a range of activities for foodies, wine lovers and those looking to discover new tastes. Our focus remains on offering exceptional value, with premium quality at an affordable price”, says House.

A subtle change in name has taken place since last year with this year’s festival being called “Salut” – a small alteration from last year’s “Salute”. “Salute sounded very formal. But Salut has a lighter feel to it; it’s a friendly, casual greeting, reflecting the true sense of this festival. It’s about having fun, sharing the experience and enjoying the companionship of friends”, explains Paul Alsop, Festival Co-Chair, regarding the change.

The detailed roster of events and activities is available online at www.salutwinefestival.com, and regular updates are also provided via Twitter and on the Salut Wine + Food Festival Facebook pages.

Salut Wine + Food Festival 2010
Calgary – April 17 – 17
Toronto – May 8 – 15

Now consumers can book online winery reservations for free on www.VinoVisit.com and www.WineCountryGetaways.com.

Napa, CA (PRWEB) February 3, 2010 — VinoVisit, Inc., today announced that it has partnered with Wine Country Getaways to syndicate the VinoVisit.com “Book a VinoVisit” reservation widget on the winery profiles located at www.winecountrygetaways.com.

Wineries that are in the VinoVisit.com network will have a reservation widget on their Wine Country Getaways profile. Says wine blogger and site manager, Joe Becerra, “One of the best ways to learn about wine is to visit wineries, take a tour, and taste wines. Visitors to my site will find an assortment of wine trails that will guide travelers to wineries that will provide varied experiences in wine enjoyment and education. We’re pleased that our partner VinoVisit.com makes it easy to book winery reservations and we have added that functionality to our site as a service to our visitors.”

-

According to VinoVisit Marketing Director Angie Feehan, “Wine Country Getaways has a robust site with rich content and over 70,000 unique visits each month, so we’re thrilled to add them to the VinoVisit Marketing Network. Both of our organizations are focused on driving more traffic to tasting rooms, including those wineries ‘off-the-beaten-path’.”

Ultimately, this increased traffic translates into more direct-to-consumer sales and greater profits for wineries.

About VinoVisit

VinoVisit.com, a winery search engine, provides an easy way for visitors to search, then select and book tours and tasting events by location, varietal, and dozens of other attributes. Winery profiles include robust descriptions, photos, maps, visitor reviews, and video. Real-time reservation bookings, multi-day itinerary-building tools, turn-by-turn directions and closed-loop visitor reviews round out the consumer offering.

VinoVisit, the first reservation system developed specifically for wineries, also provides a Visitor Relationship Management™ system that: captures valuable visitor contact information, collects marketing and sales data, offers CRM tools and automates and simplifies the reservation process.

VinoVisit has established co-marketing partnerships with key websites in planning visits to wine country. The VinoVisit Marketing Network™ partner websites garner between 3 and 4 million visits each year, raising the online visibility of VinoVisit wineries. Most recently, VinoVisit launched the Facebook application, “Book a VinoVisit” which enables wineries to accept reservations directly from their Facebook page.

About Wine Country Getaways

Managed by wine blogger, Joe Becerra (Napa Valley Wine Blog), Wine Country Getaways is a heavily-trafficked travel log site dedicated to wine trails that offer a good atmosphere in the tasting room, a unique experience, and great wine.

The wine information they have listed in the Tasting Room Guide and the Enjoyment Guide is mostly from their own experiences, from reading many wine articles and books, and attending wine events. They love wine and enjoy traveling to wine country. They hope their web site will provide many opportunities to enjoy this good life.

Tom Eddys 2002 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon comes from classic hillside vineyards in St. Helena, Diamond Mountain, and the Oakville Bench areas that produce some of the most extraordinary mountain fruit of the Napa Valley. With a mere 544 cases produced, this elegant, impeccably balanced, and beautifully structured wine is the highest rated and most desirable vintage released to date. The Wine News Bob Hosmon agrees, Indeed, the 2002 Tom Eddy Cabernet Sauvignon is as good as California Cab gets.

95 Points & Tasters Choice Selection, Wine News magazine “A well-built, serious wine packed with layers of fruit and promising great aging potential.”

94 Points, Kens Wine Guide “I described Excellent wines as those that just blew you away. Their flavors just make you yearn for more. They last forever in your mouth. These wines make an impression that will not forget. These are the wines you brag about. So in Tom Eddys 2002 Napa Cab, you have all those qualities. This very dark purple wine opens with a very inviting spicy blackberry bouquet with hints of licorice and blueberry. On the palate, this wine is ultra smooth, quite elegant, and has delicious black cherry flavors that make you yearn for a second glass or bottle. There are hints of spicy blackberry notes as well. The finish of this wine remains elegant and its fine tannins linger for a tremendously long time. This is a very special wine for a special meal.

92 Points, Wine Enthusiast “Its soft and gentle and interesting, with a good grip of tannins, and could develop additional bottle complexity in the coming years.”

Fredric Koeppel This wine is not an expression of a particular vineyard or designation, but of the Napa Valley itself, and thats certainly how it feels, as deep, as rocky, as alluvial as its historic origins. This is a cool, clean and powerfully minerally Cabernet, effortless in its confidence, eloquence and elegance but with foundations that rest on bulwarks of polished oak 28 months in French barrels and grainy tannins. Exceptional.
